Reflexology
Reflexology
is a science which deals with the principle that there are
reflexes in the feet and hands corresponding to each and
every organ and all parts of the body. It is a specific
technique of pressure on these reflex areas.
Doctors
agree that over 75% of our health problems can be linked to
stress. Reflexology relieves stress and tension. It also improves
nerve and body blood supply to every organ and gland of the
body and helps return them to their normally functioning level.
Is
Reflexology New?
Reflexology as we know it today
was researched and developed by Eunice Ingham In the 1930's. It
was practiced as early as 2330 B.C. by
the Egyptians.
What Does Reflexology Do?
The primary benefits of a reflexology
session are the release of stress and tension. Reflexology
improves nerve and blood supply to help bring about homeostasis.
What Reflexologists Don't Do?
We do not diagnose or treat
any specific condition. Reflexology cannot make any condition worse. Since only the hands are used. It Is a safe, effective way to better health.
Can My Condition
Be Helped?
Doctors agree that 75% of illnesses
are stress related. Since Reflexology relieves stress,
many people experience wonderful results, especially when combined with proper nutrition and exercise.
How Many
Sessions Should I Have?
It is recommended that
you begin with two sessions per week for the first couple
of weeks. A series of six sessions should begin to bring positive
results. Then, space your sessions until you find what works
best for you.
Can I Work on myself?
Yes, there are many areas of the feet and hands that
you can apply pressure on yourself to bring about a beneficial
effect. However, the Reflexology technique requires a degree
of training, so It would not be as effective as from a Certified Professional. Also, some areas
of the feet are very difficult to reach on your own. This
is when some of the tools and Reflexology Machines
can be helpful.
Can I Be
Trained To Be a Reflexologist?
Yes, Dwight Byers, President
of the international institute of Reflexology, has written
a comprehensive text titled "Better Health With Reflexology".
The original Ingham Method is taught through training seminars
and workshops, held locally and throughout the United States
and Canada.
What About All Those Machines &
Foot Products?
There are countless products,
gadgets, and machines on the market these days because of
the renewed interest in Reflexology. Some are wonderful
! I have socks , foot baths, sandals, oils, rollers,
heated pads and don't forget about the
De-tox Pads
Anything that helps your feet
feel good is beneficial. So, go for it!!
As far as the machines, my stand-by is still the Chi
Machine because of the angle and the lymph drainage
effect. (Be sure you have the authentic one). Feels
so good after being on your feet all day. But, our newest
machine is called the Electro-Reflex-Energizer,
and is an electrical stimulant massager specifically for the
feet. You place your feet on the bumpy foot pads, sit
back , and relax. It warms up just nice, and provides
a mild massage for your feet and up the legs in three
different intensities. Wonderful ! The other component
of the machine is separate pads that go on the back of your
shoulders for a full body relaxation treat.
Our company offers a 2 week trial
on both machines.
